Characteristics

Shar Pei have a unique look with their loose, wrinkled skin, and blue-black tongue. They come in various colors, including black, cream, red, and blue. Their loyalty and protectiveness make them great family pets, but they can be wary of strangers and other dogs. Socialization from a young age is important to help them develop good behavior. Shar Pei are intelligent and independent, which means they can be challenging to train. Positive reinforcement and consistency are key to successful training. They are moderate to high energy dogs and need daily exercise to keep them healthy and happy.

Living Environment

Shar Pei are not suitable for apartment living due to their size and exercise needs. They require a home with a securely fenced yard where they can run and play.
