Description

The Havanese has a double coat with soft hair on both and can come in a wide range of colours including white, silver, blue and black.

Characteristics

Gentle, affectionate, playing and smart, the Havanese is great with kids and becomes very attached to its family. It's easy to train.

Health Problems

While generally very healthy, this dog can be prone to hip dysplasia, PRA, poodle eye, juvenile heritable cataracts, Chonrdodyplasia, patella luxation, Legg-Calve Perthes Disease, deafness and dry skin.

Exercise

Daily exercise is important for this dog.

Grooming

Clip the coat for easier care, or thoroughly brush it twice a week if you keep it long. This breed is good for allergy sufferers.

Living Environment

Apartment living is very suitable for this breed. It was born to live in your home, not outdoors or in a kennel.
