Characteristics

Health Problems

Exercise and Training

Training a Borzoi requires patience and consistency as they can be independent and stubborn at times. They respond well to positive reinforcement training methods and benefit from short, daily training sessions. Regular exercise, such as long walks or runs in a safe, enclosed area, is necessary to keep them healthy and happy. They also enjoy activities such as lure coursing and agility.

Grooming

Maintaining a Borzoi's long, silky coat requires regular grooming to prevent mats and tangles. They shed moderately to heavily and require weekly brushing, occasional baths, and regular nail trimming, teeth brushing, and ear cleaning.

Living Environment

Borzois are not suitable for apartment living, as they require ample space to run and play. They thrive in homes with large, fenced yards or in rural areas where there is plenty of open space for them to explore.
Although they are not particularly active indoors, they do require regular exercise to maintain their health and fitness.
