3 No-Bake Birthday Cake Recipes Your Dog Will Love!

Who doesn't love a cake on their birthday? Our dogs are no exception! For your dog's next birthday, why not treat them with a special "no-bake" birthday cake of their own. There are many types of cakes you can make for your dog, some of which don't even require you to turn on your oven!

Here are 3 easy no bake dog cake recipes for you to try for yourself:

No-Bake Banana & Peanut Butter Birthday Cake

Ingredients:

1/2 cup peanut butter (xylitol free)
1 ripe banana
Unsweetened almond milk (you can also use water)
1/2 cup natural yogurt

Instructions:

• Combine peanut butter, natural yogurt, and diced ripe banana in a bowl and blend until it forms a smooth mixture.
• Add almond milk or water, a little at a time until everything blends well.
• Pour the mix into muffin tins (or cake tin) and freeze until solid.
• When you are ready to serve, remove them from the freezer and allow them to thaw slightly before serving.
• You can decorate the cake on the day with some of your dogs favourite treats!

No-Bake Pumpkin Dog Birthday Cake

Ingredients:

1½ cups of any dry cat or dog
3 tablespoons peanut butter
¼ cup pumpkin puree (or mashed potato/sweet potato)
Icing:
1 cup powdered sugar
2 tablespoons water
2 tablespoons liver sprinkles

Instructions:

• Put dry dog food into food processor along with peanut butter and pumpkin puree (mashed potato).
• Pulse until it resembles coarse crumbs and sticks together.
• Press into a 10cm spring form mini cake pan or roll into a cake pops.
• Remove from cake pan.
• Mix 1 cup powdered sugar with 2 tablespoons water to make icing to pour over top of cake. Spread it with a spatula and decorate with liver sprinkles.

No Bake Beef & Potato Dog Birthday Cake

Ingredients:

500g beef mince
1 egg
1/2 cup fresh or frozen peas, plus more for decorating
1/4 cup rolled oats
1/4 cup shredded cheese
1 large potato, sweet potato or kumara

Instructions

• Peel, chop and lay potato into a saucepan. Cover with water, bringing to a boil, then reducing heat to cook until fork tender, about 20 minutes. These will later be mashed and used to ice the cake.
• While potatoes are boiling, combine remaining ingredients in a mixing bowl, as if you were making a meatloaf. Divide mixture among greased baking tins, flattening the surface to make neat 'pattie' shapes.
• Place meat mixtures in the fridge for 30 minutes to bind.
• Drain cooked potatoes and mash until smooth, adding water or broth if needed to get it to a smooth and spreadable consistency.
• Spoon and shape mashed potatoes between and over two of the meat cakes to cover. Make sure to get a thick layer in between the two cakes to get the look of a frosted centre. Then ice the outside of the cake with the mash mixture.
• Use the remaining peas to decorate the top of the cake with. You could use all sorts of dog-friendly veggies or treats to add colour and different designs to your pups cake!
